House of Silk - Anthony Horowitz - Review

First things first - I loved it !

Anthony Horowitz does not let you feel, even for a second that Arthur Conan Doyle is dead. His narration is taut. Uses the same archaic words and builds on the aura of Sherlock Holmes as "dramatized" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The story runs into plots and subplots and sub-subplots. It has its own loopholes here and there, but these are acceptable. What I loved about this novel was the fact that the author somehow found his way to bring in Professor Moriarty.

I will not delve more into the story. Come on, A Sherlock Holmes Story with all its plots - is not something you give away. Read it and enjoy it for yourself. However WikiPedia seems to play spoilsport here by posting the entire story online.

The House of Silk is just as thrilling as the House of Lac. (If you read mythology, you'd get it).

A fantastic piece of fiction writing - Don't miss it !

  1. I too liked this pastiche immensely. The cameos and the vintage climax were the best parts!
